21 held in fake medicine racket

HYDERABAD: The police on Tuesday arrested 21 gangsters from Karnataka who have been indulging in the supply of spurious ayurvedic medicines to patients and recovered 13 mobile phones, five two-wheelers, gold ornaments, watches and a bracelet from them. The arrested include 13 men and eight women.Gopalpuram police said, "The gang members picked up victims from tea cafes in the city.” They lured people from hospitals and shopping malls. Police said that the accused have collected `20,000-`2 lakh from the victims and have fled.Eight more persons of the gang are at large. Investigations are on to nab the rest.
