New Delhi: Twenty-four countries have been hit by the H1N1 influenza A virus, but India is still off that map. However, two techies with flu-like symptoms - sore throat, body pain, fever - are under observation in Bangalore.

Both just returned from Chicago and one has been living there for nearly seven years.

They have been quarantined and the samples have been sent to Pune, the results expected in the next 48 hours. Meanwhile, two samples from Hyderabad and one from Chandigarh have tested negative for the flu. The results of one sample from Jalandar are still awaited.

A bio-safety level-III laboratory at the National Institute of Cholera Enteric Diseases in Kolkata is now ready to conduct tests on people affected with Swine flu. The lab can take care of cases from eastern India in case of a community outbreak.
