Vijaya, a young girl from Telangana, has her community mesmerised with her melodic voice as she sings Telugu folk songs. Her passion for singing folk songs has garnered her attention for her dedication to preserving traditional melodies. Her family and community consider her to be a gem in today’s world as she lends her unique voice to soulful Telugu folk songs.
Vijaya hails from Kallur, in Suryapet District of Telangana. She belongs to a modest family where her mother works as a labourer and her father works as a farmer. Right from her childhood, she used to sing songs and recite ragas in a melodious voice. Reportedly, she was not born in Telangana, yet her interest in Telangana folk songs has left people around her impressed. She is also passionate about singing movie songs.
Despite her fondness for various songs, her opportunities are restricted to just her community. She has sung on various platforms which earned her recognition from her community.
The 18-year-old is trying to take the initiative to get herself to a global platform to showcase her singing talent. As per her, she has very fond memories of her father singing her songs in her childhood. Assumably, inspired by him, she nurtured her singing talent and has now developed a deep sense of love for music. Her talent has been lauded by her family, neighbours and members of her community. She aims to make a name for herself in the singing world and gain fame for her versatility.
Vijaya’s talent was recognised by a mentor when she participated in a junior talent program. Ever since she has been appointed as a music tutor to teach singing at the program till today. Along with her career in singing, she is also managing her academics.
She dreams of earning fame as the renowned Bollywood singer Shreya Ghoshal, whom she idolises. She is determined to playback in movies and sing songs just like her and gain recognition. Through her story, Vijaya wants to inspire other aspiring singers like her to work towards their dreams.
