How to Sell Tickets on Ticketmaster: Easy Step-by-Step Tutorial
Are you suddenly unavailable to go to a concert, game, or event that you already bought tickets for? Ticketmaster has a few convenient methods for reselling your event tickets, whether you're using the Ticketmaster app on mobile or the website on a desktop. In this article, we'll teach you how to sell your tickets on the Ticketmaster app and the Ticketmaster website, as well as how to accept ticket sale offers you might have. We've also included a few Ticketmaster alternatives if you want to try a different site.
Things You Should Know
  • Before you can begin selling, you must have a U.S. bank account and an SSN/TIN, and you must fill out your seller information with Ticketmaster.
  • If you sell your tickets via your Ticketmaster orders, you'll get your money in 5-7 business days after you make the sale.
  • If you sell your tickets via the barcode on the ticket, you'll get your money in 5-7 business days after the event.

Create a Seller Profile

There are three steps to completing your seller profile details. To sell tickets for events on Ticketmaster, you must have a U.S. bank account, an SSN or TIN (taxpayer identification number), and must fill out some extra details with Ticketmaster. Add a payment method. Under "My Account" > "My Profile" > "Billing Information" enter your payment method in the "Buying Tickets" setting. While adding your card, check the box that says "If I sell tickets, this card may be charged to refund the buyer if the event is canceled, postponed, or rescheduled." Click "Add New Card" once done. Submit your tax details. Go to Ticketmaster's tax detail form and log in with your Ticketmaster email and password. Fill out the information on the page: your location (to determine citizenship), your legal name, your TIN/SSN, and your permanent address. Click "Submit" when done.

After your first tickets are sold, you must verify your bank information. After your first tickets sell, Ticketmaster will ask you to verify your banking information by sending you two small deposits (under $1). These deposits will appear in your account 3-5 business days after your tickets sell. Once you have the deposits, go to the Ticketmaster website (you cannot verify on the app) and navigate to "My Account" > "My Profile" > "Billing Information," and select "Verify Now." Follow the on-screen instructions to enter the deposit amounts and verify your banking info. If you want to skip this process, add a debit card to your account instead. This is only available with U.S. debit accounts.

Other Ticket Reseller Options

StubHub. StubHub is an established and trusted ticket resale site that has a large user base. If you're looking for a Ticketmaster alternative, this is one of the best options out there.

SeatGeek. SeatGeek has a 10% seller fee (which is lower than Ticketmaster and StubHub's 15%) and has a larger user base as well.

Vivid Seats. Vivid Seats also offers a 10% seller fee and a large user base, but has a high buyers fee at 32%.

Eventbrite. Eventbrite is another ticketing site that offers similar services to Ticketmaster, and might be a good alternative if you're selling tickets to a smaller show.
