"I don't want to give it away but there's some Taylor," David Leitch said.

Last month, Universal Studios unveiled a new trailer for The Fall Guy, sparking lively discussions among fans. One particular scene in the trailer featured Ryan Gosling’s character, Colt Seavers, experiencing an emotional moment in his car while listening to Taylor Swift’s All Too Well. This scene resonated strongly with Swift’s fans, and it hinted at more emotionally charged moments in the film. Now, Director David Leitch mentioned that some tracks from Taylor Swift might be a part of the movie.

In an interview with Variety, the director expressed his admiration for Swift, saying, “I don’t want to give it away but there’s some Taylor. There’s some Taytay. We love Taytay and so does Colt Seavers." He further elaborated on the significance of Swift’s music in the film, explaining to The Hollywood Reporter that it plays a substantial role in conveying the story’s emotional depth.

“It was something that was baked into the DNA of the film and when we were looking for a piece of music that sort of represented their romance and their fall from grace in the past, and I won’t give too much away because you guys all have to see the movie," Leitch told The Hollywood Reporter. “Taylor has this great song and then we started to play it and it just became emblematic of their moment and also, it’s such a beautiful cue and it’s an emotional cue," he added.

Universal’s synopsis for The Fall Guy paints the protagonist as a daring stuntman who braves perilous feats for entertainment. Following a near-career-ending mishap, he embarks on a quest to find a vanished movie star, unveil a conspiracy, and reignite a lost romance all while juggling his daily job.

In the upcoming film, Ryan Gosling takes on the role of Colt Seavers, a stuntman who secures a job only to be met with the disappearance of the lead actor. Emily Blunt stars as a prosthetic makeup artist with a romantic history with Seavers. Hannah Waddingham plays the film’s producer, while Winston Duke portrays Seavers’ best friend. Stephanie Hsu appears as the missing star’s assistant, and Aaron Taylor-Johnson takes on the role of the missing star, Tom Ryder. The film is produced by Kelly McCormick, with a script penned by Drew Pearce. Gosling also serves as a producer, alongside original series creator Glen A. Larson.

The Fall Guy is set to hit theatres on May 3.
