Belgian international Eden Hazard sparked a huge row having kicked a 17-year-old ball boy, named Charlie Morgan, during a League Cup semi-final fixture between Chelsea and Swansea back in 2013. Hazard was given marching orders for his unacceptable behavior. Hazard recently reunited with Morgan who has become a successful businessman worth more than £40 million.
The former Chelsea and Real Madrid player also shared a picture of his meeting with Morgan on social media platform X, formerly Twitter. “A nice thing about retirement is catching up with old friends. You have come a long way in 11 years my friend Charlie Morgan,” Hazard said.

The controversial incident had taken place at the Liberty Stadium during Eden Hazard’s stint at Chelsea. With Chelsea’s chances of overturning a 2-0 deficit getting slim, the Blues became impatient and as a result, frustration started growing at the visitors’ camp. Swansea had a 2-0 lead from the first leg of the tie when ball boy Charlie Morgan was seen trying to hold on to the ball in the 80th minute of the fixture.
Needless to say, Charlie Morgan’s act did not go down well with Eden Hazard who decided to kick the ball boy. Morgan was seen rolling around holding his ribs. Hazard was sent off because of his unruly conduct and the Belgian later apologised as well. “The boy put his whole body on the ball and I was just trying to kick the ball. I think I kicked the ball and not the boy. I apologise,” the former Chelsea footballer said as per Mirror.
The report stated that Charlie Morgan decided not to press any charge against Eden Hazard. Following the conclusion of the game, Charlie was seen shaking hands with the Chelsea players in the dressing room.
Since that event, Charlie Morgan has gone on to become a successful entrepreneur as the owner of a business empire. Charlie and his business partner Jackson Quinn, founded Au Vodka back in 2016.
Meanwhile, Eden Hazard announced his retirement from professional football at the age of 32 in October last year. Hazard ended his glorious club career with five league titles. In the international circuit, Hazard was a crucial member of the Belgian football team that claimed a third-place finish at the 2018 World Cup.
