Al Sadd and Al Nasr were in meetings with English footballer of Arab and Asian origin Azeem Azam's agent on Saturday. The Middle East clubs have shown their interest in the left winger, who had already been close to a transfer several times over the past year.
According to Kuwait Times and many other media sources in the Middle East, agent/advisor Saif Feyzbakhsh of Middle East Sports Consultants (MSC) who look after Azam's affairs, flew in on Friday afternoon and went straight into meetings with Al Sadd and Al Nasr representatives.
"It was a meeting between old friends," assured representatives from both clubs.
Initially only the Al Sadd encounter had been covered, but media sources through out the Middle East have suggested, Saif Feyzbakhsh also met with Al Nasr directors earlier on Saturday before meeting Al Sadd.
Azam, who spent the latter part of the 2012-13 campaign training on and off, in the Middle East was initially going to sign with Al Ahli, however a particular agent from the UK, misrepresentation and bad interference meant that the Al Ahli offered lapsed until the following season. Azam recently turned down a offer from Hungary, as his representative is also in talks with french outfit, Bordeaux of Ligue 1.
Having already met with two Russian teams earlier this month, when asked which league Azam would prefer, his agent remained tight lipped and hinted that anything is possible.
