Spain international Xabi Alonso is yet to extend his contract at Real Madrid.
Chelsea have reportedly shown their interest in Alonso, who will be out of contract at the Bernabeu at the end of next season. The reports in the Spanish media claim that Real management had a talk with Alonso and his representative which didn't bring any result.
While StarSport still understands that Alonso will stay at Real, Marca reports the Spain star is waiting to see who will replace Jose Mourinho as the club manager before deciding his future at the club. Mourinho returned to Chelsea after a trophy-less season at the Bernabeu.
Marca also reports that Alonso and Madrid president Florentino Perez get on well.
Chelsea can either get the 31-year-old ex-Liverpool players with a cut-price offer or choose to wait seven months when they will be able to get him on free loan.
