The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has confirmed that only Classes 3 and 6 will have textbook modifications for the academic year 2024-25, while all other classes will continue to use textbooks from the previous year. In its most recent update, CBSE highlighted the necessity of following the established curricular requirements for Classes 9 through 12. This covers academic content, exam syllabi, learning goals, pedagogical practices, and assessment guidelines. Schools are encouraged to use approaches such as multilingualism, art-integrated education, experiential learning, and complete pedagogical strategies wherever feasible.
Curriculum and textbook updates for other classes will not occur for the academic year 2024–2025 hat started on April 1, 2024, added CBSE. All students and instructors should be provided with the curriculum for 2024-25, which is available on the CBSE website. The curriculum for Classes 9-12 is available under the Secondary & Senior Secondary School Curriculum section of the Boards website.

With the implementation of the National Curriculum Framework for School Education 2023 (NCF-SE-2023), CBSE has encouraged schools to match their activities with the new framework’s guidelines. This includes content requirements, educational tactics, assessment procedures, and other pertinent topics addressed by the Board.
Meanwhile, the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has informed CBSE that new curricula and textbooks for Classes 3 and 6 are being developed and will be available shortly. Schools should plan to employ these new resources in the coming academic year. NCERT is also producing a bridging course for Class 6 and brief instructions for Class 3 to facilitate a smooth transition to new pedagogical techniques and topics of study that are linked with NCF-SE-2023. Once NCERT has acquired these resources, they will be made available to schools online.
Along with arranging capacity-building workshops, CBSE will acquaint school administrators and instructors with the new teaching-learning philosophies outlined in the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP-2020).
