SRH vs MI: Travis Head Announces His Return to IPL to Strike 62 off 24 Balls Against Mumbai Indians - WATCH
Travis Head was at his absolute best as the Australian managed to strike an 18-ball fifty to announce his return to the IPL and make his debut for SRH in style.

The Sunrisers Hyderabad opener, Travis Head has lit up the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium with a blistering knock of 62 off 24 deliveries to make his debut for SRH in their second game of the 2024 season against the Mumbai Indians.

Many questioned whether it was the right call to have not played Head in their opening game against the Kolkata Knight Riders. The Australian sure seems to have proven why he is a force to be reckoned with with a fiery knock to set the tone for SRH in the first innings.

He managed to get off the mark with a boundary in his first delivery by attacking the young debutant, Kwena Maphaka to smash it towards the covers and bring up his first runs in orange.

It did not stop there. He continued to go on the offensive, attacking MI’s skipper Hardik Pandya in his very first delivery for his second boundary. But the worst was yet to come as he gave the 17-year-old South African a harsh welcome to the IPL as he smashed a total of 21 runs off just five deliveries within the third over.

Despite the quiet over from MI’s ace, Jasprit Bumrah followed by Mayank Agarwal’s dismissal by Pandya, Head continued the onslaught as he hit the MI captain for a hat-trick of boundaries in the fifth over.

Abhishek Sharma also supported Head from the other end and attacked Gerald Coetzee, but Head managed to one-up him by striking two boundaries and the maximum as the Aussie brought up his fifty in just 18 deliveries.

His knock however was cut short as he looked to go big once again but the short and wide delivery from Coetzee was a bit much as Head mistimed it to find the fielder at the deep.

But Abhishek took the baton and continued the charge as he managed to race past his fifty in just 16 balls. He was also dismissed but SRH took the lead in the game by hitting 173 runs off just 12 overs.
