Star Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant was in action for India B in the Duleep Trophy 2024 match played against India A at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. During the fourth and final day’s play on Sunday (September 8), the 26-year-old cricketer played a big role in his side’s 76-run win by taking as many as five catches. He completed the catches of Riyan Parag, Shubman Gill, Tanush Kotian, KL Rahul, and Avesh Khan to help India B dismiss India A for 198 runs in reply to the 274-run chase.
But his catch of Avesh on the fourth ball of the 51st over caught everyone’s attention, and the video of his super effort is now going viral on the internet. Pant, who was playing in his first red-ball match since a life-threatening road accident on December 30, 2022, dived to his left and completed a flying catch.

Pant, who is all set to make a comeback in the Indian Test team for the upcoming two-match series against Bangladesh, also impressed with his batting during India B’s second innings. He came out to bat at No. 5 for the Abhimanyu Easwaran-led side on Saturday and hammered 61 runs from just 47 balls. He crossed the 50-run mark in just 34 balls and, during his stay at the crease, scored a total of nine fours and two sixes.
He added 72 runs for the fourth wicket with Sarfaraz Khan, who contributed 46 runs from 36 balls.
Pacers shine for India B

While Saini and Mukesh managed to dismiss two batters each for 41 and 50 runs, respectively, RCB pacer Yash Dayal picked up three wickets for 50 runs in 12 overs.
All-rounders Nitish Reddy and Washington Sundar also finished the match with one wicket each in the second inning.
