At a time when BCCI is getting stricter about players playing in the domestic season, former India pacer S Sreesanth underlined the importance of playing domestic cricket saying players should play all the games especially, the domestic fixtures.

“It’s very important to play First-Class cricket. All the players should play all the matches, especially domestic cricket,” said the pace on the sidelines of the Indian Veteran Premier League (IVPL).

Sreesanth also shared his opinion on the mix of fast bowlers that the Indian team has witnessed for a while now with hardly any left-arm pacer in the setup.

Sreesanth said that a left-arm pacer brings a lot to the table and believes that there are bowlers who are grinding hard at the domestic level.

“There are surely bowlers who are playing at the domestic level. I’m sure there will be bowlers who will be eager to come and play. I won’t take any names but would say one thing, ‘Mehnat karo, India khel sakte ho’,” he said.

“Rohit (Sharma) is a brilliant captain and a brilliant cricketer. This time I’m sure that the T20 World Cup which is going to take place in West Indies and USA, we will win the final for sure.”

“It’s a great feeling to be a part of the second season of IVPL and it’s an opportunity to meet all the old friends. A huge shout out to (Praveen) Tyagi bhai also for consistently organising a successful tournament like this. The ground here is very good and a lot of credit goes to the groundsmen as well for preparing this kind of a wicket,” he concluded.
