IPL 2024 Playoffs Race After SRH vs RCB: Sunrisers Hyderabad Sit at 3rd Spot; Royal Challengers Bengaluru Remain Alive Top 4 Race
Royal Challengers Bengaluru remain in the hunt for a playoff spot following their victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad.

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru finally managed to get back to winning ways, breaking their six-game losing streak and beating the Sunrisers Hyderabad by 35 runs at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.

Rajat Patidar shone with the bat as he struck a 20-ball fifty, returning to form while also being supported by Virat Kohli who had a steady knock of  51 in 43 balls as RCB went on to set a target of 207 runs for the home side. Cameron Green also chipped in with 37 runs in 20 balls while Dinesh Karthik and the impact sub, Swapnil Singh contributed with quick cameos of 11 and 12 runs in six balls each.

RCB were on the money from ball one and asking SRH to chase seems to be the trick to plug up their run-scoring form. Travis Head was gone in the first over by Will Jacks. The top-order was not able to deliver as they always have and it went down to the middle and tail-enders where Shahbaz Ahmed scored the most with 40 in 37 balls but ended up on the losing side.

The Faf du Plessis-led side remains at the bottom of the table but has levelled on points with the Punjab Kings as the comeback is well and truly on for the Bengaluru-based franchise.

Meanwhile, SRH remain at the third spot in the points table with 10 points but other sides like Lucknow Super Giants, and Chennai Super Kings have their tails up with the third spot in the table potentially up for grabs.

Points Table After SRH vs RCB

Kolkata Knight Riders have the chance to build a gap and potentially nail down the second spot in the table with a win in their upcoming game against Punjab Kings.

SRH remain firm in the third spot on the table due to their superior net run-rate in comparison to LSG.

RCB will have to win all their upcoming games with a total of 10 points up for grabs and a couple of results going their way means that they will be able to make it into the playoffs
