Royal Challengers Bengaluru managed to put up a total of 196 for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs batting first at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday against the home side Mumbai Indians in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League.
RCB put up the big total thanks to Dinesh Karthik’s sensational innings lower down the order as he made an incredible unbeaten 53 runs off just 23 deliveries.
The highlight point of Karthik’s blinder of an innings came off Akash Madhwal’s over as the Chennai-born batter picked the Mumbai pacer apart with four boundaries off a single over, with all the fours coming with identical shots behind the wicket.
It’s not a replay ❌It’s just @DineshKarthik using his improvisation perfectly not once but four times.

RCB were put to bat first by MI skipper Hardik Pandya as the visitors lost the prized wicket of Virat Kohli early in the innings after having made just 3 runs. Will Jacks, who was handed his IPL debut by RCB, did not last long in the crease as he was sent back by Madhwal for 8.

Faf du Plessis and Rajat Patidar steadied the RCB ship with their 82-run stand as the latter brought up his 50 in 25 balls before being dismissed in the very next delivery by Gerald Coetzee.
Glenn Maxwell’s disappointing run in the IPL continued as he fell victim to Shreyas Gopal’s spin for a duck. Skipper du Plessis brought up his fifty before being dismissed by Bumrah, who added another to his tally with the dismissal of Mahipal Lomror for a golden duck.
Bumrah came back to haunt the RCB batters as he claimed the wickets of Saurav Chauhan and Vyshak Vijaykumar in consequent deliveries in the penultimate over to claim his fifer.
However, Karthik added some more runs to his name as he stood unbeaten at 53 off just 23 deliveries to push RCB to the fighting total.
