Vijay Sethupathi is one of the most sought-after actors in Indian cinema. His son, Surya Sethupathi has acted as a child artist in a couple of films. Now, Surya is all set to make his debut as a hero in stunt director Anal Arasu’s film Phoenix. This film will mark the directorial debut of Anal Arasu. Phoenix’s pooja ceremony was held on November 24 at the AVM Studio. As per reports, this film is billed to be a mass-action entertainer. Rajalakshmi Arasakumar has produced this film under the banner Brave Man Pictures and Sam CS has composed the music. Cinematographer Velraj and editor Praveen KL have also been roped in for the Phoenix.
Surya has previously essayed supporting roles in his father Vijay Sethupathi-starrer films like Naanum Rowdy Thaan and Sindhubaadh. Suriya’s screen time was less in the film Naanum Rowdy Thaan. He got to play a full-fledged role in the film Sindhubaadh. Surya is also looking forward to playing a cameo role in Vetrimaaran’s Viduthalai 2. The shooting of this film is currently underway. Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Manju Warrier, and others have also acted in Viduthalai 2. Grass Root Film Company and RS Infotainment have bankrolled this film. Viduthalai 2 will be released in Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam.
A clip of the press conference in which Surya is talking about Phoenix to the entertainment portal Galatta has surfaced on social media. Surya told the media that there is a huge difference between his and his father’s acting skills.
Social media users congratulated Surya and wished him the best for his new journey. in One of the users pointed out that he exhibits the same mannerisms as his father. Others criticised him for getting an easy debut because he is the son of a renowned actor.
VijaySethupathi last essayed the role of the antagonist Kalee Gaikwad in the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Jawan. Vijay received accolades for his acting in the film, which enjoyed a golden run at the box office.
