Aha Tamil continues to impress audiences with its string of promising and well-received films. The latest addition to their repertoire is Sevappi, a feel-good film written and directed by MS Raaja. The film features Kumaran, a 5-year-old boy, as the central character, alongside Poornima Ravi, who portrays his mother. Renowned Tamil artist Rishikanth plays the role of the boy’s maternal uncle.

The entire plot of Sevappi unfolded within a brief 27 days of shooting in Madhipalayam, a village nestled between Kerala and Tamil Nadu. During the pre-production phase, director Raja and his team discovered a keen interest in acting among many villagers. Sevappi not only provided them with a platform to fulfil their acting aspirations but also contributed to the authenticity of the narrative. Starring Poornima, the film is set to premiere on the OTT platform Aha on January 12, coinciding with Pongal.

Set in a 1990s Tamil Nadu village, Sevappi narrates the tale of a five-year-old boy who develops a unique connection with a chicken, echoing a father’s love for his children. The storyline takes a poignant turn as the once cohesive village undergoes a rupture, impacting the harmonious bond between the boy and the chicken. The central questions arise: Did the boy and the chicken reunite?

With music composed by A Praveen Kumar, the cinematography of the film is handled by Manoharan Murugesan. Meanwhile, the film is produced by Rajeshwar Kaliswamy and Prasanna Balachandran.

Previously, Poornima starred in the film Annapoorani, written and directed by Nilesh Krishnaa. The film starred Nayanthara, Sathyaraj, and KS Ravikumar in the leading roles.
