Markets trade weak as heavyweights slip

Mumbai: The markets are trading weak as index heavy weights HDFC, Ranbaxy Labs and Infosys slipped. At 1300 hours IST, the Sensex is down 11.01 points or 0.08 per cent at 14118.63 and the Nifty is down 8.45 points or 0.21 per cent at 4069.95.

About 1358 shares have advanced, 1108 shares declined and 64 shares are unchanged.

HDFC at Rs 1,563.80 is down 2.03 per cent, Ranbaxy Labs at Rs 425.10 is down by 1.25 per cent and Infosys at Rs 2,227.50 is down by 0.69 per cent. They are the top losers on the Sensex.

The top losers on the Nifty are, SAIL at Rs 97.10 down by 2.71 per cent, Oriental Bank at Rs 220.05 down 2.31 per cent and HDFC at Rs 1,564.90 down 1.98 per cent.

Top percentage losers on the BSE are AK Capital Ser at Rs 122.00 down 9.63 per cent, Sky Industries at Rs 57.50 down 8.8 per cent and Aztecsoft at Rs 150 down 7.29 per cent.

However, Bajaj Auto, BHEL, ACC, HCL Tech, M&M and Suzlon Energy are the top gainers on the indices.

Index heavyweight Hindustan Lever is trading at Rs 220.25 down 0.65 per cent from its previous close of Rs 221.70.

Index heavyweight Reliance is trading at Rs 1,357.00 down 0.56 per cent from its previous close of Rs 1,364.65.

Tech major Infosys is trading at Rs 2,227.50 down 0.69 per cent from its previous close of Rs 2,243.05.

Cigarette major ITC is trading at Rs 170.80 down 0.35 per cent from its previous close of Rs 171.40.

And refinery major HPCL is trading at Rs 295.50 up 0.03 per cent from its previous close of Rs 295.40.
