Kingfisher Airlines denies shutdown rumours
Kingfisher is operating its schedules as per revised plans approved by the Directorate-General of Civil Aviation last week.

Mumbai: Beleaguered Kingfisher airlines on Sunday refuted speculation that it planned to shutdown its operations.

A spokesperson said that airline CEO Sanjay Aggarwal had met a group of the company's pilots recently to appeal to them not to stay away from flying duties which could hit the airline's operating schedules.

"At no time was there any suggestion that Kingfisher airlines would shut down," the spokesperson said, denying speculation in a section of the media.

The KFA management is making all efforts to get its bank account unfrozen and co-operating with the Income Tax Department over its pending issues, to ensure timely payment of salaries, start further recoveries of its aircraft and resume normalcy in operations, the spokesperson said.

In the past few weeks, the cash-strapped KFA's flight schedules were seriously affected on account of its pending problems with various government departments.

At present, the airline is operating its schedules as per revised plans approved by the Directorate-General of Civil Aviation last week.
