Janhvi Kapoor is all set to debut in the south film industry and now there is a fresh update that the actress will be soon seen sharing the screen with superstar Suriya in the much-anticipated mythological drama, ‘Karna.’ While the other details are not shared but this piece of news has surely raised excitement among their fans. Pinkvilla has mentioned that Janhvi will be playing the lead role in the film and the film will be directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra.
According to recent reports, it seems that Janhvi Kapoor has been roped in to play the leading lady in the film opposite Suriya for the very first time. The film which is based on the Mahabharata will be a pan-Indian flick that will be divided into two parts with a huge budget being bankrolled for it. Suriya will be playing the titular role with the film’s pre-production works underway as of now. Well, it is worth mentioning here that Janhvi is already making her Telugu debut in Devara co starring Jr NTR and Saif Ali Khan.
According to a report in Pinkvilla, Devara will not be released on April 5 anymore. A source close to the production house shared, “Devara is a high-end VFX film, and the output is taking longer than expected. The makers are clear about not compromising on the visuals, as the stakes are high. NTR Jr. is also very cautious about next after RRR and wants to deliver a big cinematic experience. The makers are now looking to arrive in the second half of 2024.”
Devara is set against the coastal lands and is helmed by Koratala Siva. The film marks Janhvi Kapoor’s debut in South films and her first-ever collaboration with Jr. NTR. Just like RRR, this Telugu movie will reportedly have high-octane action sequences that are expected to blow away the minds of the audience. As per reports, Devara is being made on a huge budget. The makers are reportedly spending a whopping Rs 140 crore on its VFX. The rumour mill is rife that the makers are also spending 33 percent of the movie’s original budget on special effects.
