Virat Kohli Spotted in Ayodhya? Dressed in Indian Jersey, Cricketer's Lookalike Mobbed By Fans
Ayodhya Ram Mandir Inauguration: Video of Virat Kohli's doppelganger being mobbed by fans after the 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony goes viral.

After news broke about the sighting of Virat Kohli’s convoy in Ayodhya a day prior to the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony at the Ram Mandir, anticipation was high for the cricket star’s attendance at the temple’s inauguration alongside a star-studded lineup. However, it turned out to be Kohli’s lookalike who stole the spotlight, donning Kohli’s Indian jersey and goggles while being swarmed by enthusiastic Indian cricket fans for selfies and photos.

A video capturing the doppelganger, circulated on ‘X,’ showing him initially posing for photos with people. As the crowd grew larger, he attempted to escape, as evident in the viral video. Despite his efforts, he couldn’t elude the crowd. Now, whether the ‘real’ Kohli participated in the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ at Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir remains uncertain, but his duplicate must have experienced a taste of Kohli’s fame, if only for a brief moment, amidst the chasing crowd.

While Kohli was conspicuously absent from the inauguration ceremony, reports suggested his presence at the airport on Sunday as India initiated their training camp in Hyderabad, the venue for the first Test starting on January 25.

However, Kohli has withdrawn from India’s first two Tests against England due to personal reasons, as announced by the BCCI on Monday. The board stated, “Virat has spoken to captain Rohit Sharma, the team management, and the selectors and has emphasised that while representing the country has always been his top priority, certain personal situations demand his presence and undivided attention.” A replacement for Kohli will be named soon.
