In the Tamil entertainment industry, KPY Bala is a well-known television actor. His breakthrough performance was in the Vijay TV comedy show Kalakka Povathu Yaaru. His numerous appearances in Cooku with Comali have left an impression on the audience. The young actor is also popular for his comedic timing. He has appeared in several films and television shows, including Thumbaa, Cocktail, Friendship, Repeat Shoe and others.

In addition to his fame from his acting career, Bala is widely known for his charitable contributions. He has also helped people with his own money and is frequently seen donating necessary items to people, especially in villages. The actor recently provided an ambulance service to the hill dwellers of Vaniyambadi town in Tirupathur district, according to reports.

Neknamalai village, in Vaniyambadi town, part of the Alangayam union, is 1,500 feet above sea level. Approximately 750 people live in this village. They have to walk for 7 kilometres daily for essential needs, including medicine, due to a lack of adequate road facilities. Furthermore, pregnant women and people with serious health issues are often carried in makeshift stretchers (called ‘doli’ in local parlance). There have been several cases in which many villagers, both young and old, have died because they were unable to reach the hospital on time.

Reports state that when actor Bala got to know about this village, he went to Neknamalai and decided to offer help to the locals living there. Bala donated an ambulance at his own expense to assist those who lacked transportation for medical needs. While speaking to the media, Bala expressed concern about pregnant women and senior citizens being carried in makeshift stretchers.

In August 2023, he provided a free ambulance for the hill dwellers of Kadambur near Erode. He also stated that he purchased the ambulances with money he earned from shows abroad. He does not want to form a trust and ask people to donate money. Reportedly, the actor revealed that he plans to purchase ten more ambulances for people in the coming months.
