Want To Join The Indian Air Force? AFCAT 2024 Exam Dates And Pattern Revealed
Through AFCAT, recruitment is done for Group A Gazetted Officer rank posts in the Flying and Ground Duty Branch (Technical and Non-Technical) of the Air Force.

So many young Indians aspire to serve their nation by joining the prestigious Indian Air Force. The gateway to realising this dream is the Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT), which facilitates the recruitment of candidates for Group A Gazetted Officer rank positions in the Flying and Ground Duty Branch (Technical and Non-Technical) of the Air Force. For the upcoming year 2024, the AFCAT is scheduled to be held on February 16, 17, and 18. The online application process commenced on December 1 and concluded on December 30, 2023, through the official website of the Indian Air Force.

AFCAT 2024: Admission Requirement

To appear for the AFCAT 2024, the candidate must have a 12th pass and be a graduate as well. If the candidate wants to go to the flying branch, then they should have passed 12th in the science stream with at least 50 per cent marks. Whereas for graduation, candidates from any branch are accepted with at least 60 per cent marks. Similarly, in other branches, the eligibility criteria vary as per the requirement.

AFCAT 2024: Exam Pattern

The AFCAT 2024 exam is worth 300 marks. A total of 100 questions are asked in this two-hour examination. These questions are asked in different subjects like general awareness, verbal ability in English, numerical ability, reasoning, and the military aptitude test. All the questions are in objective form and are in English. The examination also has negative markings, i.e., one mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. As a result, candidates will have to carefully answer these questions.

AFCAT 2024: Normalisation of Marks

The AFCAT exam will be held on several days in different shifts. As a result, the normalisation of marks will be applicable in the exam. Normalisation is done to obtain the marks of the candidates using a statistical method. Before declaring the result, the marks will be normalised using a particular formula.

Apart from that, the candidates can also do practice tests that will be available on www.careerindianairforce.cdac.in or afcat.cdac.in.
