'Just 20 Minutes After Surgery': Suryakumar Yadav All Smiles Watching Rohit Sharma and Rinku Singh's Record Partnership - WATCH
Suryakumar Yadav was glued to the screen after his surgery watching his skipper Rohit Sharma and Rinku Singh rebuild the Indian innings during the third T20I vs Afghanistan.

India’s star batter in the T20I format, Suryakumar Yadav who had undergone sports hernia surgery, was all smiles seeing skipper Rohit Sharma and Rinku Singh rebuild India’s batting innings in the final T20I against Afghanistan in Bengaluru. Just 20 minutes out from surgery, the batter did not waste too much time as he was hooked on to the match straight away.

The batter has been a vital part of India’s batting unit in the shortest format. He is also the number-one-ranked batter in the T20I format and is going to be a big miss for the Mumbai Indians in the upcoming IPL as well. But reports suggest that the batter could make his return in time for the IPL as well.

Fans and the management will hope that the batter will be able to make a quick recovery and get back to full fitness ahead of the T20 World Cup in the West Indies and the United States of America.

In the previous T20I series against South Africa, the batter managed to pick up an ankle injury while fielding in the final T20I at the New Wanderers Stadium which required surgery.

Surykumar Yadav has managed to rack up an impressive record in T20Is where he batted across 57 innings scoring over 2000 runs at an average of 45.55 with a strike-rate of 171.55 as well.

Along with his exemplary record in the format, he also can hit all parts of the ground while taking on the toughest bowlers as well which will be a big asset for the side for the T20 World Cup. His consistency is also unmatched as he already has scored four centuries and 17 fifties as well in the format.

India will be aiming to continue performing well in ICC tournaments and get over the heartbreak of the finals loss against Australia in the ODI World Cup finals at Ahmedabad.

The Men in Blue have yet to win the T20 World Cup since the inaugural edition under the leadership of a young MS Dhoni in 2007. Despite having a good side in the previous tournaments, they have not been able to get over the line and break the long-standing curse of not winning the ICC tournaments.

India now does not have any T20I games lined up and will prepare for the five-match Test series against England at home followed by the IPL and then will be travelling to the West Indies and USA for the T20 World Cup in June.
