Kuldeep Yadav Trolled for 'Clueless' Spell Against England. Fans Ask 'What About Krunal Pandya?'
Jonny Bairstow and Ben Stokes went ballistic against Kuldeep Yadav and Krunal Pandya while chasing India's 337. Yadav leaked 84 in his 10 overs while a clueless Krunal gave as many as 72 runs in 6 overs in the 2nd ODI on Friday.

English batsmen made a mockery of the Indian bowling attack on Friday after the hosts pulled off their highest run chase against India in history chasing a steep target of 337 with ease and 39 deliveries in their kitty. The thrilling win that came at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune helped England tie the ongoing ODI series 1-1, with one more contest to go. The record batting performance was built around a stunning 175-run stand of just 117 deliveries for the second-wicket between Jonny Bairstow and Ben Stokes. While Bairstow smashed a commanding ton (124 off 112), it was Stokes’ ruthless 99 off 52 balls that left the Indian bowlers scratching their heads. At the receiving end of the absolute carnage by Englishmen were Kuldeep Yadav and Krunal Pandya. Yadav leaked 84 in his 10 overs and a clueless Krunal gave as many as 72 runs in 6 overs.

After being thrashed all across the park, Kuldeep Yadav was heavily panned on social media by fans and critics. As for others, they felt sorry for the spinner.

Why go easy on Krunal Pandya?

There was a section of social media that was promptly reminded of the senior Pandya whose expensive spell and a much higher bowling economy made the run chase seem like a cakewalk for the Englishmen.

India were in the driver’s seat, or so they hoped after the first half of the match in which they recovered from a shaky start to put a mammoth 336 for 6 in their allotted 50 overs – their fifth-highest score in ODI cricket against England. The home team lost their openers – Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma within the first powerplay but recovered through a 121-run stand between Virat Kohli and KL Rahul.

Kohli registered yet another fifty but failed to convert it into that elusive three-digit score which has been evading him since November 2019 as he was dismissed by Adil Rashid for 66. Rahul then partnered with the swashbuckling Rishabh Pant to put together the second-century stand for India – the pair added 113 off just 80 deliveries with Pant going ballistic with 77 off just 40 deliveries – a knock powered by as many as 7 sixes.
