Passengers Forced to Travel 600 KM With Dead Body After Man Dies Inside Delhi-bound Train
Despite alerting the railway authorities multiple times, the body was not removed until the train arrived at Uttar Pradesh's Jhansi

Passengers aboard Tamil Nadu Sampark Kranti Express undertook a journey for about 600 km alongside a corpse after a man died inside the train’s general coach. The train was travelling from Chennai to Hazrat Nizamuddin in Delhi.

Despite alerting the railway authorities multiple times, the body was not removed until the train arrived at Uttar Pradesh’s Jhansi, where it was taken into custody by the Government Railway Police (GRP). The body was then sent for postmortem.

The deceased was identified as 36-year-old Ramjeet Yadav, a resident of Uttar Pradesh’s Banda district who used to work in Chennai.

According to an India Today report, Ramjeet was sick and was travelling home to Banda with his brother-in-law, Govardhan.

On Sunday, Ramjeet’s health declined suddenly when the train reached Nagpur and he passed away, said Govardhan. He also added that he reached out for help but to no avail.

Afterwards, passengers were forced to undertake the journey alongside Ramjeet’s body.

When the train reached Bhopal on Monday morning, passengers informed the authorities about the situation once again but didn’t receive any response. It was only when it reached Jhansi that the body was removed.
