Rupali Ganguly Defends Aadhya's Fiery Actions In Anupamaa: ‘Children Are Just Like That’
Aadhya, portrayed by child actress Aurra Bhatnagar, is known for her role in Barrister Babu. Her character is currently facing criticism for aggressive behaviour towards her adoptive parents.

The Rupali Ganguly and Gaurav Khanna starrer, Anupamaa, has reached new heights of success following a 5 year leap in the storyline. Fans were eagerly waiting for the reunion of Anu and Anuj, also known as MaAn, and the recent episode delivered the emotional meeting after a long wait. While Anu is struggling to adjust with her new life in the USA and working at a restaurant, Anuj lives with Choti Anu, now known as Aadhya, who changed her name due to her anger towards Anupamaa. Aadhya, portrayed by child actress Aurra Bhatnagar, is known for her role in Barrister Babu. Her character is currently facing criticism for aggressive behaviour towards her adoptive parents. In a recent live session, Rupali defended her actions and urged viewers not to judge too quickly.

The actress said, “See, right now maybe you all are upset with Choti Anu, who is now Aadhya, but children are just like that. If you think about yourself, when we were at that age, around 12-13 years old, in the teenager or pre-teen phase, children tend to be a bit rebellious. Then, if you say anything to them, they take it very emotionally and what they believe in, if they feel hurt, they react in a certain way. What we sometimes think is stubbornness is actually their emotional outburst. So, I am again requesting that please do not judge Aadhya right now."

“I am a mother, so I know that when a child says, ‘I don’t want to talk to you, I don’t want to see you,’ the child is doing it because they are hurt, not because they don’t love their mother. There won’t be any child in this world who doesn’t love their mother and fathers also have such a wonderful role to play. I feel very happy when I watch episodes that show the bond between Choti Anu and Anuj," Rupali Ganguly added.

In a recent episode, Aadhya is shown losing her control and throws a tantrum upon learning about Anuj played by Gaurav Khanna’s meeting with Anupamaa. While in anger, she not only pushes her father but also threatens him to stay away from the woman who she believes ruined their lives. Viewers were quick to express their anger for the character on social media, condemning her actions and dialogues

Apart from Rupali Ganguly, Gaurav Khanna and Aurra Bhatnagar, Anupamaa also features Sukirti Kandpal, Vaquar Shaikh, Chandni Bhagwanani, Sudhanshu Pandey, Madalsa Sharma, Aashish Mehrotra, Alpana Buch Nidhi Shah and other actors.
