The Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) has postponed the Group 2 exam. It was scheduled to be conducted on January 6 and 7. But now it has been deferred. The revised dates of examination will be announced in due course, the commission said in an official notice.

The TSPSC group 2 exam was scheduled to be administered on August 29 and 30 but was later postponed to November 2 and 3. Again, due to the Assembly Elections in Telangana, it was postponed to January 6 and 7. That too, stands cancelled now.

“It is hereby informed to the candidates who have applied for the posts of Group II Services (General Recruitment) vide Notification No.28/2022, dated: 29/12/2022, that the written examination for the said Notification, which is scheduled to be held on 06/01/2024 & 07/01/2024 is postponed. The revised dates of examination will be announced in due course,” read the notice by the commission.

Candidates can check the detailed notification on the official website at tspsc.gov.in. Through this recruitment exam, TSPSC aims to fill up a total of 783 vacancies in various departments under Group 2 Services. The exam will be held from 10 AM to 12:30 PM and 2:30 PM to 5 PM, respectively.

According to reports, hundreds of aspirants held protests on August 10 demanding that the Group II recruitment exam be postponed. Thereafter, TSPSC Chairman Dr B Janardhan Reddy postponed the exam from August to November following Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s decision in a brief meeting with the secretary on August 12. As per candidates, a 70 per cent rise in the curriculum for the third paper in Group 2 (Economics) has increased the burden. The candidates requested that the exams be postponed for at least three months, alleging they had been unable to study for the exams for the preceding three months due to the paper leak.

The exam consists of a total of 600 marks and features four papers. The exam comprises 150 objective-type questions in each of the four papers. Each paper carries a total of 150 marks in total. For every correct answer, candidates will get one mark. The exam will be held 2 hours 30 minutes. Those who clear the written exam will next be called for an interview.
