'Love Your Energy': Indore's Traffic Cop Ranjeet Singh Reveals Rohit Sharma's Heat-winning Gesture
Indian captain Rohit Sharma made a special effort to ensure that his autograph reached the Indore's famous traffic cop Ranjeet Singh.

India skipper Rohit Sharma won hearts on the internet with his heart-warming gesture towards Indore traffic cop Ranjeet Singh. A social media heartthrob, Singh visited the Holkar Stadium to watch India take on Afghanistan in the second T20I of the 3-match series on Sunday. He had once met Rohit during Team India’s last visit to the city but missed out on getting the India captain’s autograph. This time, however, Rohit remembered the encounter and made a special effort to ensure that his autograph reached the cop.

Ranjeet uploaded a picture of the autograph on Instagram, saying, “The captain remembered this. This time while going he gave me his autograph and his love towards me in words. Hearty thanks captain sir for your love”.

Several fans have now reacted to the post with one saying, “Incredible Human beings like Hitman and you make this earth a worthy place. Lots of love and respect to you both.”

For the unversed, Ranjeet Singh is an Indore-based traffic police officer who is quite famous on social media for his moonwalking dance steps while managing the bustle. In his Instagram post, he also talked about how he met the captain for the first time, “When the Indian team came to Indore the last time, I met India’s captain Rohit Sharma ji.”

He then explained how the India skipper sent the autograph to Ranjeet.

“This time while going, he gave his autograph and his love towards me in words and gave it to driver sir and asked him to give it to the ‘crazy’ man Ranjeet,” he said.

Ranjeet was so touched by the captain’s humility and compassion that he praised the skipper saying, “A player does not become great only by sports, similar thinking makes him great.”

While Rohit Sharma’s actions outside the cricket field are winning hearts, his performances on the pitch have left the cricket world in disarray. Despite playing at home against Afghanistan, the Indian skipper lost his wicket on a duck in both games. The first shock came in Punjab when improper communication between him and his opening partner Shubman Gill led to a silly run-out. At Holkar, the skipper was dismissed for a golden duck by Afghan bowler Fazalhaq Farooqi.

India were eventually able to recover from this early mishap as Yashasvi Jaiswal gave the side a perfect start during their batting innings. The Afghan target of 172 runs was well within reach after Jaiswal smashed 68 runs in 34 balls. Shivam Dube stepped up again for the Men in Blue as he belted 63 runs while hitting five boundaries and four sixes. Thanks to these couple of great performances, India beat Afghanistan by six wickets in Indore.
