Water Dispenser For Rs 41K? Bengaluru Woman's Online Listing Has Internet Shook
Bengaluru woman shares Facebook post to resell two water dispenser for Rs 41,000. Bizarre offer leaves internet amused.

It’s a familiar sight to witness homeowners utilising social media to showcase their rental offerings, in hopes of attracting potential tenants. Even household items such as air conditioners (AC), geysers, and refrigerators find their way into the rental market, catering to those in need. But have you ever come across the peculiar spectacle of someone trying to sell plastic water cans? Yes, in a bizarre Facebook post, a resident of Bengaluru decided to part ways with two water cans with a dispenser, and if that wasn’t enough, she slapped an astonishing price tag of $500, roughly Rs. 41,000, on them. Can you believe it? Two ‘plastic,’ ‘used’ water cans demanding a princely sum!

This eyebrow-raising listing was originally featured on the ‘Flat and Flatmates Bangalore’ group on Facebook, along with the caption “Selling due to moving out of blr (Bengaluru).”

The jaw-dropping offer didn’t escape the notice of @VandanaJain_ on micro-blogging site ‘X,’ who shared a screenshot, sparking a flurry of reactions ranging from shock to amusement. One user cleverly suggested, “500 dollar ? dispenser k saath agar thora equity unke dil mai bhi mil jaye to mazza aajaye,” while another couldn’t help but express their disbelief with a simple, “I have no reaction to this.”

Adding a touch of sarcasm, a third individual humourously questioned, “Transportation and installation cost included?!”

While the ‘X’ post featured a collection of amusing screenshots showcasing the online community’s responses, the original Facebook post remained untouched by such comments.

Meanwhile, this isn’t the first time Bengaluru has taken center stage for bizarre incidents. In a prior instance, a man grappling with the city’s renting crisis made a peculiar plea to “share a place for life” with a woman in search of accommodation. Naturally, she took to social media to share this unsettling exchange, shedding light on the extraordinary lengths people go to secure housing in the city.
