Save Your iPhone Battery When Charging Isn't An Option: Quick Tips You Can Follow
Recent iPhones have great battery backups, but what will you do when charging isn't an option and you want to save the battery for longer? Read on to find out.

Have you ever been in a situation where you wanted to get the most out of your iPhone’s battery, but it starts draining quickly when you need it the most? You’re not alone.

In some situations, like when traveling or if you forgot to charge your iPhone before leaving for work, it gets difficult to get through the day when you essentially don’t have a full battery. Here, following some basics can go a long way in ensuring that you extend your phone battery usage. This is especially true for iPhones with degraded battery health.

Now, let’s see some  effective battery-saving measures you can take on your iPhone:

If You Have a ‘Pro’ iPhone, do this

If you have a Pro iPhone that supports Always On Display and a high refresh rate, turn off the Always On Display by going to Settings > Display and Brightness > Always On Display and then toggle it off.

iPhones give you no option to reduce the display refresh rate, and here your only choice is to turn on the Low Power mode you will find in Settings > Battery. This brings the refresh rate down in the iPhone Pro models.

Turn off 5G to Save iPhone Battery Life

If you have a 5G-enabled iPhone, you can choose to temporarily turn it off and switch to 4G LTE. We have seen slightly better battery life when using 4G compared to 5G.

For this, go to Settings > Mobile Service > Mobile Data Options > Voice and Data > Choose LTE.

Turn off Background App Refresh

Firstly, you need not turn this off if you have already enabled the low power mode, but if you want to individually turn off Background App Refresh, head to Settings > General > Background App Refresh.

This prevents your apps from not refreshing in the background, as it may cause unnecessary iPhone battery drain while you want to preserve the battery.

Toggle off “Listen for ‘Hey Siri’”

If you aren’t aware, your iPhone has the ability to listen for the “Hey Siri” or now with iOS 17, just the “Siri” hotword to activate the virtual assistant, but this does also mean that when you enable this setting, your iPhone microphones are active and listening, and this may potentially drain more power compared to when it is off. So, to turn off this setting, head to Settings > Siri and Search > Toggle off “Listen for ‘Hey Siri.’”

What's your reaction?
